Current awareness 

KnowledgeShare provides highly targeted updates based on your professional interests.  Alerts may include reports, websites or other sources, as well as journal articles.  You can specify age groups, settings, professional groups and subject areas, and choose the frequency of your updates.  To sign up, please complete this online registration form.

 

UpToDate 

UpToDate is a clinical decision support resource that provides answers to clinical questions on over 10,000 topics in over 25 medical specialties.  UpToDate topic reviews cover all of the major aspects of a particular condition, including symptoms, tests, diagnosis and treatment options.  Patient information materials are also available.  It is available from:  Search - UpToDate . 

To access the app, using a CAVUHB PC, click on "Register" on the top right of the UptoDate homepage and create an account. You can now download it to your phone from your usual app store.  

 

BMJ Best Practice

BMJ Best Practice  is a clinical decision support tool, uniquely structured around the patient consultation, with advice on symptom evaluation, tests to order and treatment approach.  It includes patient information leaflets. 

 

Clinical guidelines, procedures and pathways, and medicines information 

The NHS Wales e-Library provides links to a number of sources, including BNF, BNFC, iRefer, Medicines Complete, and WISDOM, in addition to the Royal Marsden Manual. 

 

ClinicalKey

ClinicalKey gives access to clinical summaries, 600+ journals, 1,150+ books, systematic reviews, practice guidelines, patient information and 18,000 videos and images relating to all medical and surgical specialities. This current, peer-reviewed, evidence-based information is updated daily. It includes patient information leaflets in several languages. Access is provided by the NHS Wales e-library.
