Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted by the crisis unfolding in Ukraine. This is an extremely worrying and distressing time for communities around the world, with many staff and members of our community having close connections to family and friends in Ukraine.

Tens of thousands of Ukrainian people have been displaced from their homes with many seeking safety and sanctuary in the UK and Wales through the Ukraine Family Scheme and Homes for Ukraine scheme.

We are committed to doing all we can to support those arriving in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, Offering healthcare support directly.

We are also sharing the following a range of resources to assist accessing healthcare and mental health support.

Resources

The Welsh Government have setup a helpline offering help, advice and support to those arriving from Ukraine.

Call 0808 175 1508 or use +44(0) 20 4542 5671 if phoning from outside the UK.

Access to Healthcare

GP Practice

All Ukrainians arriving in Wales will be able to access NHS healthcare free of charge including GP and nurse consultations, hospital services and access to urgent care. Ukrainians coming to the UK will also be offered COVID-19 vaccines and public health screening.

NHS 111 Wales

NHS 111 Wales provide health advice and access to urgent non-emergency care.

Check your symptoms and get health advice online (English & Welsh)

Call 111 free from your mobile or landline and speak to an adviser in English, Welsh or one of over 120 languages via a telephone translation and interpretation service. All you need to do when you call is state in English the language you would prefer to use.


Emergency Services

For life threatening emergencies call 999. The operator will advise what to do or where to go next.

 

Mental Health Support

C.A.L.L. Mental Health Helpline for Wales

The helpline provides support and information to anyone suffering mental distress as well as to their families and friends.
