Local Induction

Induction Process

The Learning Education and Development (LED) Department deliver a one day Corporate Induction Programme which is suitable for all new employees joining the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB).   

In addition, all employees must receive a departmental (local) induction on the first day of employment with the UHB or when they move to a new work area.  The line manager or a nominated inducting officer will go through the following induction checklist to ensure all relevant points are covered.

Once this checklist has been completed it should be placed on the individual’s personal file.

Local Induction - supplementary information for managers -

An information sheet has been developed to help managers describe the key employment policies, procedures etc. to new starters during the local induction process.

Mandatory Checks

In addition to completing the Local Induction Checklist and enrolment form (cannot upload excel file Enrolment Form updated 01 May 2018 ), managers have a duty to ensure all new staff complete the following forms as part of the induction process. It is very important that the following documents are printed, completed with the new member of staff and placed on the individual's personal file.

Starters Checklist If the new member of staff does not a P45 it is essential that they complete a Starter Checklist.   This can be printed or completed on line by clicking here.   This replaces the old P46 form previously issued by HMRC.

Declaration of Interest - All new starters regardless of band or role must complete a  Declaration of Interest Form.

Essential Information for New Employees
