Most children with simple nephrotic syndrome can be managed by the SPIN doctor and it is encouraged that all children with nephrotic syndrome migrate to their care. Please refer to the guideline endorsed by your lead paediatric nephrology centre.
Indications for referral to / discussion with a paediatric nephrologist
- Failure to respond to 4 weeks of prednisolone 60 mg/m2/d
- Raised creatinine
- Low C3
