Neurophysiology Tests

The Neurophysiology Department conducts a range of tests which chart different brain and neurological activities.  These tests record:

  • Electrical impulses in the brain (Electroencephalogram).
  • Electrical signals passing along nerves in the limbs (Nerve Conduction Studies).
  • Electrical activity in muscles (Electromyogram).
  • Response of the retina (eye) to light stimulation. (Electroretinogram/ Visual Evoked Potential)
  • Responses of the brain and spinal cord to evoked potentials.(Somatosensory Evoked Potential)
