Anyone can register with a GP practice in Wales.
You do not need a fixed address or ID to register with a GP.
In Wales, everyone who is registered with a GP can get free prescriptions.
📝 What Form Do I Need?
- You only need to fill out one form: the GMS1 form
- You can get this form at any GP surgery.
🌍 Need an Interpreter?
- If you don’t speak English well, you can ask for an interpreter.
- This is free.
- The GP surgery must provide this service.
🚫 Can a GP Say No?
A GP can only refuse to register you if:
- Their list is full, or
- You live outside their area
They must not refuse you because of:
- Your race, gender, age, religion, disability, appearance, sexuality, or health condition
If you think you were refused for one of these reasons, it may be discrimination.
