I need emergency contraception

Emergency contraception can be used up to 120 hours after unprotected sex (no contraception) or contraception failure (split condom).

You may be offered a copper intrauterine device (IUD or copper coil) or an oral tablet depending on your preferences. The healthcare professional can advise you of the best emergency contraception for you. For more information regarding emergency contraception, click here

Please contact us on 02921 835208 from 9:00am - 3:00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). A receptionist will take your details and ask for a brief reason for your call and a clinician will call you back from an 02921 or private number to discuss your emergency contraception options and book an appointment for you.

We welcome phone calls in Welsh and in English. 

Your community pharmacy is able to provide over-the-counter products such as condoms, pregnancy tests, emergency contraception. Pharmacies also provide confidential access to NHS contraception services, including the provision of emergency and bridging contraception, safer sex and sexual health advice, all available in the privacy of a consultation room.
