Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering

Medical Physics provide a wide range of diagnostic imaging and non-imaging investigations, therapies and scientific services. 

Medical Physics services include:

• Bone Densitometry (DXA)
• Cedar (Health Technology Research Centre)
• Clinical Engineering
• Nuclear Cardiology Imaging
• Radioiodine Therapy for Thyrotoxicosis
• Scientific Services
• Thyroid Uptake Measurement and Imaging
• Vascular Ultrasound (Doppler scan)
• Non-Imaging Nuclear Medicine Tests
  • Blood Volume Investigation
  • Bile Salt Absorption Investigation
  • Breath Test for Gastrointestinal Bacteria (H Pylori)

How to Find Us

1. Medical Physics is situated on the Ground Floor across the roadway from the Short Stay Surgical Unit in the University Hospital of Wales.
2. From the main concourse entrance, follow the signs for Medical Physics, passing in turn Outpatients, Pharmacy and X-Ray. 
3. At the B block lifts, follow the blue line on the floor past Physiotherapy, continuing to the end of the corridor.
4. Go through the exit door to the outside and cross the pedestrian crossing directly into Medical Physics.
