Spring COVID-19 and RSV vaccinations 2026

Two important vaccines are being offered this spring, and we want to make sure everyone who is eligible gets the protection they need.

Invitations to receive the COVID-19 vaccine will be sent to:

adults aged 75+
residents in care homes for older adults
people aged six months or over who are immunosuppressed.

Invitations to receive the RSV vaccine will be sent to:

people aged 75+
residents in care homes for older adults
pregnant women.

Getting vaccinated can reduce your risk of serious illness and hospitalisation from RSV and COVID-19. Look out for your invitation letter and take up the offer when it arrives.

What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a virus. Older people and those with underlying medical conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, or cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.
The COVID-19 vaccine is still offered because viruses change and protection fades over time. It's important to top up your protection if you're eligible.

What is RSV?

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is an infectious disease and a common cause of respiratory tract infections.
In older adults, RSV can cause severe breathing problems, particularly in those who are frail or have other health conditions. RSV infection might cause pneumonia (infection of the lungs) or even death.

COVID-19 and RSV can spread between people. Get vaccinated and protect you and your loved ones this spring.
