Job planning is a collaborative process to prospectively agree how we will deliver our roles as senior doctors. The process will reflect the professionalism of being a doctor, and should be transparent, fair and honest. The focus should be on enhancing outcomes for our patients whilst maintaining service efficiency, and for it to be successful we need to clearly define outcomes. Now more than ever we need the flexibility to respond to changes year on year, and a good job planning process should be the vehicle for us to do that. The Allocate e-Job Planning system is now fully embedded into all Clinical Boards. We have over 92% of job plans for Consultants and SAS Grades held electronically however only 49% are fully signed off.
Having now moved to operational its important to remember that all Consultants and SAS Grade Doctors must have their job plan renewed each year.
