Secondary Care Referral

The guidelines for secondary care referrals are outlined in the South Wales Gynaecological Cancer Operating Protocols. However in summary we are happy to accept faxed referral letters through our dedicated fax number. In order to make the process smoother we would welcome help on the following:-

If patients have suspected ovarian cancer, please include

Date and result of Ca125/CEA (or AFP and HCG if the patient is less than 40 years old).
CT scan of abdomen

If patients have suspected or confirmed cervical cancer or endometrial cancer, please include

MRI of pelvis and limited abdomen
Histological confirmation

Please include copies of histological/radiological reports
