Wellbeing Empowerment Through Holistic Recovery and Inclusive Vocational Engagement

Cardiff is the most ethnically diverse local authority in Wales, and data indicates high rates of depressive symptoms and unemployment. There is a pressing need to support individuals with mental and physical health challenges to gain competitive employment. Referrals for mental health services in particular have surged since the pandemic, indicating a significant demand for interventions that promote vocational outcomes.

The provision of the WE:THRIVE service supports fully the five sustainable development principles (long-term, prevention, integration, collaboration and involvement) from the Welsh Government’s Well-being of Future Generations Act. The proposal is also aligned with the CAVUHB strategic plan Shaping Our Future Wellbeing.
