Lung Function and Sleep Apnoea Department
We provide Respiratory Testing for the whole of the adult population of Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan.
We perform a variety of lung function testing, specialist respiratory testing and sleep apnoea diagnostics and therapy referred by consultants from within secondary care. As well as this, we also have a Community Spirometry Service referred in by GPs from the Cardiff and Vale areas.
We are made up of a team of Clinical Scientists, Respiratory Physiologists, Trainee Clinical Scientists, Assistant Respiratory Physiologists and Clerical staff specialising in Respiratory and Sleep.
Our Clinical Scientists and Respiratory Physiologists are registered with the RCCP (Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists) or the HCPC (Health and Care Professionals Council).

The department is situated within the orange main outpatient building opposite the car park, on the right hand side as you enter the hospital site. Follow signposts to Lung Function once inside outpatients. If you enter the hospital from the main entrance, proceed onto the main corridor turning right. Continue until you get to the orange section, we are on the left once you enter outpatients.
