Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy

Care for patients with Gastroenterology (gullet, stomach, pancreas and bowel conditions) and Hepatology (liver) conditions is provided both at the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough.
 

Our services include:

  • Inpatient care to patients with Gastroenterology, Liver and Nutritional disorders (Ward A7 at the University Hospital of Wales and Ward West 1 at the University Hospital Llandough).
  • General and speciality outpatient clinics for patients with Gastroenterology and Liver diseases, including Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Coeliac Disease and Blood Borne Viruses.
  • Inpatient and outpatient endoscopy services. This includes an out-of-hours gastrointestinal bleed on-call service offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Inpatient and outpatient assessment and therapy for nutritional problems as part of the nutrition support team.
