Many Cardiff and Vale University Health Board colleagues and patients in our care have been fondly reflecting on the incredible reign of Queen Elizabeth II, by coming together to recognise Her Majesty’s steadfast commitment to public service.
The Health Board is supporting colleagues and patients to make arrangements which will allow them to watch or listen to the coverage of the State Funeral if they choose to do so. We know many people across our hospitals will want to watch or listen to the coverage as a way of paying their respects or simply to observe this major event.
We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the accession of King Charles III, as well as the announcement of William and Catherine as the new Prince and Princess of Wales. We hope to meet them in the not too distant future.
We are pleased to have the honour of representing Cardiff and Vale University Health Board at the Service of Prayer and Reflection for the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 16 September 2022 at Llandaff Cathedral.
Finally, we would like to extend our thanks to partner agencies, including emergency services and Local Authorities, who have been working with us around the clock during the period of National Mourning to ensure our population is kept safe at events that have followed.
We extend our sincere condolences to the Royal Family, and join the nation in mourning the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
