Cardiff and Vale University Health Board launches the Clinical Services Plan 2026-2030

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is delighted to launch the Clinical Services Plan, which will set out the long-term vision and direction for clinical services delivered across Cardiff and Vale UHB through to 2035.

This plan has been created with patients, colleagues, partners and our communities to reimagine what the future of care will look like over the next ten years.

The plan has been shaped through one of our largest ever engagement programmes, with thousands of people over 20 weeks with the public and a further 13 weeks of co-design with our colleagues and partners to consider what we heard. In order to deliver on our vision, we have set out a future single integrated model of care that is more joined-up and person-centred. This means we will bring services together across hospitals, the community, and regional networks ensuring they are sustainable for the future and enable people to live longer and healthier lives.

There are a number of priority actions set out in the plan and we are beginning to put these into action. There is already work underway to improve access, reduce waiting times and strengthen services across hospital, community and regional settings.

As we move from planning into delivery, we are focused on turning this vision into real improvements for patients and colleagues. This means thinking differently about how we provide care, working more closely with our partners, and delivering change at pace.

We thank everybody who has taken the time to engage with us on the Clinical Services Plan. We know that over the lifetime of this plan, the health needs of our population will continue to increase and chance, and the Health Board will continue to engage openly as we progress, ensuring that our services evolve in partnership with the people who use and deliver them.
