As another year draws to a close, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CV UHB) Chief Executive, Suzanne Rankin and CV UHB Chair, Kirsty Williams share festive messages thanking colleagues and stakeholders for their resilience and professionalism and reaffirms the organisation’s commitment to listening to staff feedback and making meaningful changes in 2026.
Whilst acknowledging that 2025 has not been without its challenges, Suzanne reflects on a year of notable achievements including national recognition for excellence in patient care, digital innovation, workforce sustainability and vaccination programmes.
Theres also been continued improvements through the Ward Accreditation Programme, progress in urgent and emergency care, and significant advances in digital transformation and positive strides towards sustainability, with energy efficiency improvements across the estate creating safer, more comfortable environments for patients while reducing the Health Board’s carbon footprint.
Kirsty reflects on her first months as Chair, describing it as a “privilege to meet colleagues and partners across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan”, highlighting the strength of collaboration with local authorities, primary care, the voluntary and community sector and emergency services which are collectively working to improve population health, reduce inequalities and support people to stay well in their communities.
