Cardiff and Vale UHB offers a number of different opportunities to encourage staff to learn and speak Welsh with confidence in the workplace.

Welsh Language Courses available free for staff

These are free courses available for those who wish to learn Welsh or want to develop their Welsh Language Skills:

Work Welsh Taster Courses: Funded by the centre, these 10-hour onlines course is tailored for staff who want to start learning Welsh.

Intensive Welsh Courses: Intensive courses offered over an extended period are the best way of progressing quickly to learn Welsh.

Residential Courses: The courses are tailored for different types of work and they are suitable for learners at Intermediate to Advanced level and Welsh speakers who would like to gain more confidence

Further Opportunities

There are plenty of opportunities to learn Welsh in your local community through activities, social nights and days out, along with online, class and residential courses.

• Menter Caerdydd is Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan's local Welsh Language enterprise.
• Menter Caerdydd also run E-chlysur, a local listings service promoting Welsh language social events and activities for children and adults in Cardiff.

• BBC Wales at Home, is aimed towards parents of children who can speak Welsh.
• BBC Wales Learning provides a wide variety of learning resources such as games and dictionary.
