Staff Networks

As part of our commitment to engage with our staff and to help create a more inclusive and diverse organisation, we welcome, encourage and support the development of staff networks.  These are important in bringing together people from all parts of the UHB who identify with an equality group, or an equality related issue.

Staff networks are run by staff for staff and provide the opportunity for:

  • Social interaction.
  • Peer support.
  • Professional development.
  • Assisting in raising awareness of equality.

They can also contribute to the development of UHB policies and working practices.

The UHB currently has three established staff networks - the Rainbow Flag LGBTQ+ Network (, OneVoice Network for our Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic staff ( and Access Ability Network ( but we would be pleased to support the development of further networks.
