Rehabilitation

The Directorate of Clinical Gerontology (previously the Older Persons Acute and Intermediate Care Directorate or OPAIC) sits within the Medicine Clinical Board of Cardiff and Vale UHB. The Directorate comprises 9 wards and 3 Day Hospitals located on 4 hospital sites.

In addition to the in-patient and Day Hospital services, the Directorate has outpatient services for Parkinson's Disease and Memory Loss and also the Elderly Care Assessment Service (ECAS).

Our goal is to deliver excellent, safe, effective and compassionate care for those requiring support to reach their potential for recovery and rehabilitation, using the skills of the Multidisciplinary Team and involvement of the patient / family / carer.
