Our Service

The MS service is based at the Helen Durham Centre at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. First set up in 2003, the service has grown considerably over the past 20 years. The MS team consists of Neurologists, specialist nurses, therapists and administrative staff. We cover Cardiff and Vale, and Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Boards, providing specialist MS care to 2000+ MS patients.   

The team supports patients with MS at the time of diagnosis, provides advice and support regarding disease modifying treatments (DMTs), and ongoing advice, education and support for people living with MS.   

There is also a research team who work closely with the MS team looking at the cause and prevention of the disease. They are involved in several research studies and clinical trials, with close links to Cardiff University.
