The Mental Health Clinical Board is committed to working with a range of partners to improve the mental health, care, treatment and recovery of all our patients within generic mental health services and specialist areas.
We work closely with Cardiff University's School of Healthcare Sciences in four key areas of research:
Alongside colleagues at Cardiff University, we have implemented the Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system that securely retrieves and de-identifies data in the health board’s PARIS system, which can be used for audit, service evaluation and research purposes.
We have also launched our Participate approach to increasing awareness about research that we are conducting, giving service users greater opportunity to get involved.
The NCMH is working with the Mental Health, Cardiff and Vale UHB to better understand the causes of mental health conditions and is actively recruiting participants to take part in research.
