Making an appointment

Only patients from the GP surgeries listed above can book appointments at Barry Hospital.

Please do not arrive at the hospital without having made an appointment as the service is by appointment only.

Please click here to book an appointment online or call our appointment booking line on 02921 848 181. The line is open 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). We welcome phone calls in Welsh and in English.

Make sure you have a pen and paper at hand to note down the appointment date and time.

Attending the hospital

Ensure you bring along your blood request form. This will be a pre-printed form with a small plastic bag attached provided to you by your doctor. Without this form, the phlebotomist will not be able to proceed.

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment time.

Please take a seat when you arrive. You will be called at your appointment time by the phlebotomist.

Appointments are for patients only and we expect the majority of patients to attend alone. We recognise this is not always possible, however this must be limited to one person to accompany the patient.

Opening hours

Monday to Friday (excluding bank holiday): 8am – 10am, 10.15am – 3.15pm

Please note, this service is not accessible for patients with a GP request. Please book an appointment at your GP Practice for these blood to be taken.

All patients must bring along their blood request form. This will be a pre-printed form with a small plastic bag attached provided to you by your doctor. Without this form, the phlebotomist will not be able to proceed.
