Laboratory Medicine

The services provided by Laboratory Medicine are an integral part of clinical practice, and are provided through individual departments.

The main role of the service is to provide and interpret clinically relevant information for the diagnosis, management, early detection and prevention of disease through analysis of a laboratory investigation.

Laboratory Medicine provides services to the University Health Board (UHB), Cardiff and Vale Primary care and also provides regional services in Wales and UK.

Where clinically required, the service is offered 24 hours, 365 days per year.  All departments have achieved external accreditation as part of their commitment to a quality service.
