Urinary Tract Infection

If you’re female, aged between 16 and 64 and think you have a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), you could receive free treatment from a pharmacist without the need to see your GP.

The Management of Urinary Tract Infections is offered in pharmacies who provide the common ailment Service. It allows the pharmacist to assess your symptoms, and where needed test your urine to confirm whether you have an infection.

The pharmacist will ask you some questions to decide if you need a urine test and complete a clinical assessment. Not everyone will need a urine test and if your answers indicate an infection is likely, a urine test may not be necessary. If a urine test is needed, you will need to wait a few minutes to get your result.
