Cardiac Rehabilitation classes
Cardiac Rehab is a professionally supervised programme run by Nurses, Physiotherapists and BACPR Exercise Instructors. It aims to improve the health and well being of people who have heart problems. Everyone’s needs are different and the service offered will be based on the best option for you. Cardiac Rehab offers an individualised structured programme of exercise, education and psychological support.
The Cardiac Rehab programme runs at the University Hospital of Wales, University Hospital Llandough and Llandaff North Hub. The programme aims to improve your wellbeing by offering advice and support assisting you to return to your lifestyle following a cardiac event. Patients are individually assessed for exercise by a Cardiac Nurse and a Physiotherapist and a structured programme is offered with patients who have had similar experiences. The education talks will give you the opportunity to discuss your diet, medication, blood pressure and other risk factors and learn more about your condition. We also offer relaxation. Some of the classes offer Tai Chi as part of the cool down.
