Being active is one of the most important things we can do to support our health and wellbeing. It helps to maintain a healthy weight, lifts mood, strengthens bones and muscles and decreases the risk of developing chronic conditions and diseases.
Children and young people should engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity for an average of at least 60 minutes per day across the week.
To support your child or young person to reach this goal, Cardiff Council and the Vale of Glamorgan Council are offering free fun, social, physical, messy and creative play opportunities across the summer holidays. Take a look at what is available:
Cardiff Council’s Children’s Play Service offers a wide variety of activities that will keep children entertained and engaged. Activities range from sports and physical activities to arts and crafts and brain games.
