Pharmacy Technicians are pharmacy professionals who play an integral part in helping patients to make the most of their medicines.
They undertake the technical aspects of medicines management e.g. checking inhaler technique, synchronising medicines, reviewing repeat prescribing and are often involved with prescribing audits within GP Practices.
These roles are developing rapidly and in some areas pharmacy technicians are taking on prescribing data analysis roles and treatment reviews within a set protocol.
In order to become a pharmacy technician you'll need to complete an accredited course before registering with the regulator, the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
