Construction of the new Rhydlafar Surgery is now underway, marking an important step forward for local healthcare provision. For over ten years, services have been delivered from a small temporary portacabin with only two clinical rooms, which has become increasingly unsuitable for the needs of the community.
Replacing this temporary accommodation has been a longstanding priority, and the new building supports the Health Board’s Shaping Our Future Wellbeing Strategy 2023–2035, which focuses on helping people live healthier lives and reducing inequalities.
The new purpose-built facility will provide more space for patient care, support the practice to manage future demand, and help attract additional clinicians and services. It will also offer modern, fit-for-purpose healthcare accommodation for the local population and create opportunities for closer working with cluster and community services in the future.
We will continue to share updates in our newsletters as the build progresses.
Construction started in March 2025. Construction updates can be found in the Latest News section.
