The main laws that tell us how we should protect your privacy are the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. For the protection of privacy, there is also the common law duty of confidentiality.
All these privacy rights can be changed by other laws, particularly to ensure that public services can carry out their work. This means that the right to privacy is not total – it can be changed by the law.
