Cardiff and Vale University Health Board are pleased to offer Medical Observer & Clinical Attachment placements in dedicated cohorts throughout the year . These are a 2-4 month unpaid placement for a qualified international doctor (IMG) who needs experience of the NHS and is not currently working in an NHS Trust/Health Board in the UK or have GMC registration.
This is an observer role only and the doctor and will not have direct patient contact or take on any responsibility.
Placements are available for the following:
Placeholders will still need to undertake the same checks as any other member of staff working for the NHS, including Occupational Health clearance and the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) clearance or International Police Checks.
We have seperate routes you can apply through dependant on experiance/qualifications or if you are a refugee doctor. Please see below breakdown of the routes you can take and more information in the expandable section below that.

If you havent passed your PLAB* 1 or 2, do not qualify as a refugee or have a medical degree - Unfortunatly we are not able to offer any placements at this time.
