Theatres

The Theatres Department provides care for children and adult patients undergoing surgery.  We support surgery and anaesthesia for emergencies, trauma and orthopaedics, cardio-thoracic, neurosurgery gynaecology and many other specialities.

In total, there are 12 theatres at the University Hospital of Wales and 10 at the University Hospital Llandough which includes two-day surgery theatres.  

We offer the highest quality care in a safe and welcoming environment for patients, their relatives or carers.  We place the patient at the centre of everything we do because we understand that undergoing surgery can be a difficult and stressful experience.

The two sites provide support and facilities for a vast range of specialities.
