Antenatal:
Antenatal counselling for congenital defects diagnosed during pregnancy that are likely to need surgery after birth.
Newborn babies:
Conditions requiring surgery associated with prematurity, NEC, bowel obstruction, bowel perforation, gastroschisis, exomphalos, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, oesophageal atresia and tracheo-oesophageal fistula, congenital lung lesions/CPAM, duplication cysts and abdominal cysts, intestinal atresias, anorectal malformations, Hirschsprung’s Disease, urinary tract obstruction, posterior urethral valves, sacrococcygeal teratoma.
Emergencies:
Appendicitis, twisted/torted testicles, intussusception, twisted/torted ovary, abscesses, bowel obstruction, trauma, pyloric stenosis, strangulated hernias, urinary tract and kidney blockages.
Other conditions:
Foreskin problems, hypospadias, umbilical hernias, hydrocele, groin swellings, undescended testicles, gastro oesophageal reflux disease requiring fundoplication, gallstones, gastrostomy tube insertion, splenectomy, colostomy or ileostomy formation, inflammatory bowel disease requiring surgery, pilonidal sinus, lumps and bumps, childhood cancers requiring surgery, Wilm's tumour, neuroblastoma, intravenous access lines for chemotherapy, kidney conditions that need surgical treatment, kidney stones, neuropathic bladder, laparoscopic pyeloplasty for pelvicoureteric junction obstruction, vesicoureteric junction obstruction/reflux and hydronephrosis, duplex kidneys.
