Remote Monitoring

Remote monitoring of arrhythmias is a way to monitor a patient's heart and implanted devices from home. The devices used for remote monitoring include implantable loop recorders, pacemakers, and defibrillators. 

These devices have transmitters that automatically send information about the heart to a doctor, arrhythmia nurse, or cardiac physiologist through a remote monitoring device. The device can connect to the internet or a mobile phone. 

This allows heart rhythm specialists to monitor a patient's condition at any time using up-to-date information.

Remote monitoring can help detect cardiac arrhythmias and technical issues with Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs) early. It can also help monitor clinical parameters that may indicate impending heart failure decompensation.
