All Wales Colorectal Peritoneal Metastasis Service
The All Wales Colorectal Peritoneal Metastasis Service (AWCPMS) operates as a specialist branch of the Peritoneal Malignancy Institute of Wales (PMI). It is the only dedicated centre in Wales providing life-saving treatment for peritoneal cancer of colorectal origin through Cytoreductive Surgery (CRS) combined with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC).
Patients are reviewed at the National Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting, held fortnightly on Tuesdays. The MDT comprises highly trained professionals, including specialist surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, histopathologists, clinical nurse specialists, oncology nurse specialists, and administrative staff. This collaborative approach ensures that clinicians benefit from comprehensive insights across all specialties, enabling the best possible treatment decisions for patients.
