Trans Nasal Endoscopy

Trans Nasal Endoscopy - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board

A pilot study to introduce trans-nasal endoscopy as a diagnostic tool. TNE is used to visualise the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum by passing a camera through the nose. It is used mainly for patients who have not been able to tolerate other endoscopy procedures and reduces the requirements for a general anaesthetic. Two hundred and forty patents have received TNE across the health board in a six-month period with over 95% of Key performance indicators achieved.
