Cardiff and Vale University Health Board named in the shortlist for the NHS Wales Awards 2025

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is celebrating after being named in the NHS Wales Awards shortlist for 2025.

The NHS Wales Awards, organised by the Quality Safety and Improvement directorate, on behalf of NHS Wales Performance and Improvement, celebrate excellence in quality and improvement across health and care in Wales.

With categories aligned to the Duty of Quality and Health and Care Quality Standards 2023, the shortlisted projects showcase the dedicated teams who are driving improvements in quality and safety that is transforming the experiences and outcomes for the people of Wales.

NHS Wales Effective Care Award - Initiating Home Diagnostic Assessment Tools for Point of Care Testing in Community Supportive & Palliative Care Patients to Facilitate Care at Home in Life-Limiting End-of-Life conditions - Velindre University NHS Trust & Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
NHS Wales Efficient Care Award - Developing a Value-Based, Multidisciplinary Community Diabetes Team - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
NHS Wales Information Award - Data Unlocked: Real-Time Insights Empowering Every Nurse - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
NHS Wales Learning & Research Award - Extending the Impact of a Video Conference Delivered Psychological Intervention for Perinatal Mental Health Conditions across NHS Wales - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
NHS Wales Person Centred Care Award - Development of the NHS Wales People’s Experience Survey - CEDAR, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
NHS Wales Team Culture Award - Fostering a Culture of Teamwork to Improve Outcomes for Care-Experienced Children - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
NHS Wales Whole Systems Approach Award - Reimagining Chronic Wound Care through System-Wide Partnership: The ANCLE Café Collaborative Model - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
NHS Wales Workforce Sustainability Award - Collaborative Insights for Sustainable Staffing Solutions - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

What’s next?
Judging panels will now meet with finalists to explore their projects in more depth and understand first hand, the benefits they've brought to patients and services.
A new celebration and learning event is planned for later this year to showcase the achievements of all shortlisted teams and share improvement insights from across Wales.
