An update regarding pressures on EU

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is experiencing an increased demand on our urgent and unscheduled care services over the last 48 hours, which is leading to longer waits that we would like in our Emergency Department and having an impact on other services.

To help us help you, please access services appropriately so our teams can provide care for those patients that need us most.

Please only dial 999 or attend the emergency unit if it is life threatening. If you think it is urgent please call NHS 111 Wales and if appropriate a clinician from CAV 24/7 will call you back to offer a timeslot in the appropriate health care setting if you need to be seen.

You can also get help and advice on NHS 111 Wales online for most illnesses.  

Your Community Pharmacy can also give over the counter medications and advice for most minor illnesses and don’t forget your Optometrist should be your primary choice for any eye care concerns.
