Health Visitors are qualified nurses or midwives with additional specialist training in community public health. They work with families from pregnancy through to a child’s fifth birthday, helping to give every child the best possible start in life.
Health Visitors identify health needs early and work to improve wellbeing by promoting good health, preventing illness, and reducing health inequalities. They support parents and carers with advice on infant feeding, sleep, child development, emotional wellbeing, immunisations, and safeguarding.
They carry out home visits, run community clinics, and work closely with GPs, midwives, social workers, and other professionals. Often a trusted source of guidance, Health Visitors play a vital role in supporting families and ensuring young children thrive.
If you're passionate about early years, community health, and making a lasting difference, becoming a Health Visitor could be a truly rewarding career path.
