Rachna is newly appointed to the role of Independent Member - General at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
Brought up in Cardiff, Rachna attended Howell’s School Llandaff and pursued a medical career at the University of Wales College of Medicine and Imperial College Medical School. She is a General Practitioner (Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners) and has significant expertise in Psychiatry.
After completing a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Imperial College Business School (specialising in Finance), she entered the world of Investment Banking (Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and UBS) and was Managing Director of European Healthcare Equities at Bear Stearns. She has also managed a $2.5bn investment fund and has significant international and Board level expertise.
Rachna currently serves as an Independent Member of Council at Cranfield University and as a Trustee of St George’s Hospital Charity.
She enjoys playing tennis, cycling and is an art enthusiast.
Rachna is married with one daughter.
