Within the NHS, all non-Medical/Dental posts are evaluated via the NHS Job Evaluation Scheme, which was developed based on principles of equality.
The Job Evaluation process is undertaken by a Panel of trained job matchers made up of both Management and Staff Representatives working in partnership, with each job being assessed against the 16 Factors of the Job Evaluation Scheme.
The Panel match the job to an agreed National profile and score it according to the evaluation criteria, this then determines the pay band.
Only jobs that have been matched via this process can be used to advertise for recruitment purposes.
