You can now book onto the Respect and Resolution Policy training via ESR self-service. Staff wanting to attend must first seek approval of their manager, which must be confirmed via ESR. Instructions of how to book training can be found on ESR Self-service.

Introduction to Respect and Resolution Policy

The Respect and Resolution Policy is aimed at securing constructive and lasting solutions to workplace disagreements, conflicts and complaints. It replaces the All Wales Dignity at Work and Grievance Policies. This one hour session will introduce you to the new policy and give you an opportunity to ask questions relating to it’s use in Cardiff & Vale UHB.  This session replicates the National Sessions on Healthy Working Relationships and therefore you will not need to attend if you attended one of those sessions.

Learning Outcomes
  • Understand the new Respect and Resolution Policy
  • Enhance their awareness of their role and responsibilities as a manager

Using the Respect and Resolution Policy (for managers) - All sessions 9am-4.30pm

This one-day skills development session is designed to support managers to understand how to put the Respect and Resolution Policy into practice in their workplace. The training supports managers to understand when conflict is emerging, allow them to be proactive in dealing with it and provide support for staff experiencing conflict, improving working relationships in their team.

Learning Outcomes
  • Understand their responsibility for managing early conflicts at work
  • Enhance their awareness of their role and responsibilities as a manager in maintaining a respectful workplace
  • Explore how to identify, challenge and avoid discriminatory behaviour and practices
  • Learned a range of skills to help manage the difficult interactions which arise
  • Understand and work more effectively with upset and strong emotions relating to interpersonal conflicts with their colleagues

Facilitating a Healthy Working Relationship – Face to Face session

You will need to have attended the Enhanced Communication Skills session before booking this session.

This one-day skills development session is designed to support those facilitating early de-escalation of workplace conflict. The training supports facilitators to understand when conflict is emerging, allow them to provide an independent first line of support for staff experiencing conflict and to facilitate a conversation designed to improve working relationships as close to the source as possible.

Learning Outcomes
  • Understand their responsibility for managing early conflicts at work
  • Enhance their awareness of their role and responsibilities in maintaining a respectful workplace
  • Explore how to identify, challenge and avoid discriminatory behaviour and practices
  • Learned a range of skills to help facilitate conversations around difficult interactions and workplace conflict
  • Understand and work more effectively with upset and strong emotions relating to interpersonal conflicts with their colleagues
