Mental Health Apprentices

An increase in confidence and self-belief are some of the benefits young people feel while completing their apprenticeship with the NHS.

The UHB recently employed 16 apprentices in its Mental Health Team in various administration posts who all gained great skills and showed enormous promise during their time with the health board.

The apprentices gained valuable experience of mental health and the NHS in ward and community-based settings, including adult acute services, mental health services for older people, neuropsychiatry and primary mental health services.

Here four apprentices share with us their experiences of the apprentice scheme within the Mental Health Team at the health hoard and the difference if has made to their lives and career development.
