The much anticipated, return of this celebration event took place on Friday 6th October at the Leonardo Hotel, Cardiff and what a wonderful evening the CEF staff, Health Board Executives, Independent members and sponsors enjoyed.
This was an opportunity to celebrate the commitment and dedication of the 1400 staff who make up the service board and who provide a wide range of services from housekeeping, patient catering Security, estates maintenance, waste management, to name but a few.
Craig Davies, Service Manager at the Emergency Unit said:
“Their contribution and support is essential and without them we simply could not function”
During his welcome address, Geoff Walsh, Director of CEF showed a short video which captured the feelings and satisfaction that staff have in providing their services for the benefit of patients. There were also comments from colleagues in other departments which demonstrated the high regard in which CEF is held and the important role they play in service delivery.
Our Chair, Charles Janczewski, spoke of his visits he has made to meet the teams in housekeeping, linen, waste and catering and was in awe of the complexity and magnitude of the operation to manage waste and linen in particular. He had seen first hand the enthusiasm and pride in which the staff go about their daily tasks.
