Welsh Translation Advice and Good Practice

• The Board has a preferred translator, Cardiff City Council [Tel: 02920 872527] Email: bilingualcardiff@cardiff.gov.uk)
• They charge £80 for 1000 words with no minimum charge and can be organised through their online PORTAL .
• All translations up to 30 words is free of charge.
• Guidelines on how to book translation through their online portal is available please click GUIDE for information
• A library of bilingual signs is available on the Staff Intranet to print and pin up, eg 'Out of Order, Do Not Enter'.   Please note that this can only be accessed via a UHB computer. The library includes phrases which can be used to make temporary bilingual signs and notices.

Welsh Language Information Technology Tools

• Information Technology can now offer Microsoft Windows and Office in Welsh. Please contact the Welsh Language Officer, Alun Williams for further information or tel: 02921 836081
• Cysill, the Welsh Language Spell and Grammar checker, is now available online.
